Adult-Child Role Reversal

Jennifer lives in California with her family. She has a brother, John, who lives in Boston. They visit their mom, who was widowed several years ago, in New Jersey a few times a year. On their last visit, they noticed some changes with their mom. She seemed disoriented at times and easily irritable. The mail was piling up also. Upon further investigation, they noticed bills that hadn't been paid and charges were adding up. Jennifer and John knew that it may be time to consider getting live-in help for their mom. John was able to stay with his mom until the paperwork and money situation were straightened out, but they knew they needed professional help.

After many hours of research, phone calls and interviews, Mom reluctantly agreed to having an aide. John also learned that Mom didn't have a Financial Power of Attorney, or an Advance Directive, sometimes referred to as a Healthcare Power of Attorney or Living Will. This was a very stressful situation for John, as he really didn't know where to turn for help and he didn't have the time to be collecting mail and going over and paying the bills every month. He also needed help getting documents to and from her bank, CPA and eldercare attorney.

If only John and his sister had more time and expertise to help navigate their mother's situation, imagine how much less stressful their lives would be. At Daily Navigator, we have the experience, knowledge and expertise to help you navigate these situations, making them less of a burden on you and your family.

The real benefit to you is PEACE OF MIND and MORE QUALITY TIME WITH YOUR LOVED ONES.
